When it rains, it pours
Spring is here and it has always been my favorite season. I love opening the door to hear the birds chirping, lawn mowers mowing fresh cut grass, and catching a glimpse of a boat being hauled to the lake for a day of sun. With spring comes all kinds of crazy weather in Northern Idaho. For the last week it has been rain with off and on hail storms. Yesterday the sun was out and a very warm 75 degrees! Today however, we are back to rain. We are itching to get outside and plant some flowers. We have plans within the next couple weeks to tear up all of our concrete patio out back and build a new deck. The whole plan came from having to rip up our bran new hard wood flooring downstairs because the spring rain let a little water into our basement. If we rip up the concrete we can seal the basement from any more water getting down there thus putting in new carpeting downstairs.
We have had a few sunny days to get outside and go exploring with the children. Our last trip was to Heyburn State Park where we walked for about a mile or so on a paved trail along the lake. Chris's idea was to tromp through the brush and really hike! I however was scared to death. I was convinced at any minute a bear or cougar (we have a big prob. with cougars around here!) was going to jump out and........eat us. How did I become such a chicken. Growing up all we did was camp every weekend! We live in the mountains for hell sakes! I don't know. But I was freaking out. The "hike" was wonderful. It was great to get out and let the kids run.
