One of those weeks

So I just got home from work and its now 10:30 P.M. I started my day at 1:45 and from the second I clocked in, shit hit the fan let me tell you!! My day starts off by going to every residents room and collecting their dirty wash rags and hand towels. 15 rooms to be exact. Then I replace them with clean ones. After starting the laundry I have a room to clean. The residents get their rooms cleaned once a week. Dusting, clean linen, clean bathroom and vacuum. The bathrooms in all the rooms get done everyday but on their clean room day it is done again. Anyway, as soon as I got the sheets off the bed I hear someone in the kitchen saying "Kat, will you get me a soda from the fridge!!" Got that done. Walked back into the room and I hear someone asking for tea. Did that. Walk BACK into the room to get started and here comes a resident from the Dr.'s office with a handful of new Med orders. I set that aside to get back to business getting the room done. By now I have 15 min. before my "float" is there to help. I just knew the first thing she was going to say was "this is all you got done?" (just add that to the list!) I flew back into the room and of course....I heared my pager. Beep Beep Beep, by this point I just wanna throw the stupid thing across the room. I go across to the other side of the building walk into the room that was paging me to find nobody there.... I mean, COME ON! Come to find out, she was out having her hair done and laying on her pager! Seriously. Needless to say my float arrived 10 min. later and said "is this all you did?"

At 4:45 I was getting the last of the residents to the dining room for dinner at 5. I walked into a residents room to find her on the floor. She had decided to walk by herself. Didn't work out so well for her. Just a week or so prior to this she decided to walk by herself and fell flat on her face breaking her nose and fracturing her face! Her face is still bruised up from the last fall. We got her up, checked her over, and brought dinner to her room.

By now its 8:00 and I was getting ready to start my last round of pills and heared a loud ~BANG~ I went searching hoping for the best. OH no. What I did find was our 6'5 200lb. man on the floor with a huge hole in the wall. He said he was going to his closet to grab some more chips and lost his balance. When he went down, it was hard. Not to forget the huge hole in the wall from his head! Then the problem was getting him up. Dead weight. So ya, that wasn't fun.
My night ended with writing 1 resident to resident contact report and 2 accident reports. This has been a day I wish to never relive.
