When it rains, it pours
Spring is here and it has always been my favorite season. I love opening the door to hear the birds chirping, lawn mowers mowing fresh cut grass, and catching a glimpse of a boat being hauled to the lake for a day of sun. With spring comes all kinds of crazy weather in Northern Idaho. For the last week it has been rain with off and on hail storms. Yesterday the sun was out and a very warm 75 degrees! Today however, we are back to rain. We are itching to get outside and plant some flowers. We have plans within the next couple weeks to tear up all of our concrete patio out back and build a new deck. The whole plan came from having to rip up our bran new hard wood flooring downstairs because the spring rain let a little water into our basement. If we rip up the concrete we can seal the basement from any more water getting down there thus putting in new carpeting downstairs.
We have had a few sunny days to get outside and go exploring with the children. Our last trip was to Heyburn State Park where we walked for about a mile or so on a paved trail along the lake. Chris's idea was to tromp through the brush and really hike! I however was scared to death. I was convinced at any minute a bear or cougar (we have a big prob. with cougars around here!) was going to jump out and........eat us. How did I become such a chicken. Growing up all we did was camp every weekend! We live in the mountains for hell sakes! I don't know. But I was freaking out. The "hike" was wonderful. It was great to get out and let the kids run.

Fun in the sun
On Sunday I finally had a day off and Chris took the kids and I to Coeur D Alene. We knew the weather was going to be beautiful so we decided to make the best of it. Our first stop was at the dollar store because I seem to always find the neatest things there! After that, we walked next door to Payless where I found myself, (that's right, it was MOM'S turn) an awesome pair of shoes. Next we drove next door to Wal Mart. We had a couple things in mind that we needed and ended up buying more that we didn't need. We bought a Nintendo Wii a few months ago so on Sunday we bought Wii Fit to go with it. It has a great yoga workout along with a lot of fun games. The whole Wii Fit works on your balance. I have the balance of an elephant on stilts so I didn't know how well I would do. The yoga really works on stretching and of course, balance. Chris and I both really enjoy getting on and doing it. Another really fun game on there is Hula Hoop. What a blast! You have to really swing your hips as though you are Hula Hooping and catch more rings when they toss them to you. Believe it or not it really gives you a work en'!
After Wal Mart we headed to get a couple happy meals and take them to "play park" The park is down by the Coeur D Alene lake and just gorgeous on a nice day. We fed the seagulls our french fries, walked on the beach, and played at the park for a couple hours. It was really great to be outside after being cooped up all winter.
We decided to buy Lauren a new bike for Easter. She is 5 and its past time to get her on a bike. It has training wheels of course and the fun streamers coming from the handles! Just like I had when I was little. Its so strange at times to think of life and how quickly things change. What I would do to be 5 again. And ten years from now I will more than likely being saying "what I would give to be 30 again." We told Lauren that the bike was for someone else and she believed it of course. She was trying to be such a big girl about it not being for her she said "I bet Hanna will really love that bike" I can't wait for Easter so we can take her for a ride.

Olson Fam
Just a few new pics of our little family. Nothing really new to report. I am working most nights until 10:00 so it doesn't leave much time to blog! Next month will be 6 months that I have been there. I will get Med/Dental coverage and monthly massages! Hooray for me! If I choose not to take the health care plan my wage will go up by $1.50 I must say though, when I first started I didn't know if I would make it this long! It is quite a change from auto glass for the last 12 years. Most days are good but lets get serious, we all work for one reason: Money.
Lora and I decided one afternoon to give Lauren a mini make-over. We put her hair in hot rollers, dabbed on some eye shadow and dolled up her eyes with mascara. She looked like a little princess with her long blond hair :)
Chandler is 3 now and still no luck with the whole potty training thing. He will go hours with no diaper on and then says "Mom I need a diaper ". Off we go to the potty and it is a screaming crying mess the entire time. Not a chance. He won't even SIT on the potty. Any suggestions?
I had to add a few pics of Chandler and his "piggy". This stuffed animal goes EVERYWHERE with him. Piggy always sleeps with him and anytime he is upset he runs to find Piggy. Grandma had to sew his cheek already because he was falling apart.
